Susanne Raab is the former Federal Minister for Women, Family, Integration, and Media of the Republic of Austria. In June 2025, she was elected as the next Director General of ICMPD, a position she will officially assume on 1 January 2026. During her career, she headed the Department for Integration Coordination at the Ministry of the Interior and later at the Federal Ministry for Europe, Integration, and Foreign Affairs. In 2017, she became Austria’s youngest Director General. Alongside her administrative responsibilities, she also lectured at various universities as she studied Law and Psychology. From 2020 to 2025, Raab served as Federal Minister. Her portfolio initially included Women and Integration, and was later expanded to cover Family, Youth, and Media Affairs. After concluding her parliamentary mandate in September 2025, Raab has been preparing to take up her new leadership role at ICMPD. As incoming Director General, she will continue to contribute her expertise to the global debate on migration, with a strong focus on innovative policy solutions and strengthening multilateral cooperation.
