Vincent Cochetel is a former humanitarian executive at the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) with over 35 years of leadership in asylum management, refugee protection, and humanitarian diplomacy. He has served in key strategic roles in different world regions, including as Regional Director for Europe and Special Envoy for the Central Mediterranean, where he led high-level engagement, coordinated emergency responses, and shaped protection-sensitive asylum and migration policies. Today, Cochetel works as an independent consultant, advising governments, international organisations, and NGOs on improving asylum systems, strengthening humanitarian frameworks, and navigating complex geopolitical challenges.
