Sarah Schlaeger heads the EU Liaison Unit at ICMPD’s Brussels Mission, where she leads engagement with European institutions, diplomatic representations, and other partners, providing strategic guidance on EU-related institutional positioning, funding, and legislation relevant to ICMPD’s operations. Since joining ICMPD, Schlaeger has accumulated over 15 years of experience in migration. Her expertise spans capacity building and policy advisory across a wide range of migration issues. From 2016 to 2019, she established and led ICMPD’s country office in Jordan. She is particularly committed to engaging diverse stakeholders to develop policies, frameworks, and initiatives that respond to real-world migration dynamics. She holds a master’s in European Studies from the College of Europe and one in Sociology and English Philology from the University of Freiburg.
