Monica Zanette is the Head of Region Pan-Africa at ICMPD. In this capacity, she oversees the portfolio of programmes and activities of ICMPD in sub-Saharan Africa and relations with the African Union. She is responsible for the Support Programme to the Africa-EU Migration and Mobility Dialogue and coordinates the work of the Secretariat of the Rabat Process and Khartoum Process. Zanette has over 20 years of experience, acquired in different management positions in the field of migration policies, as well as in dialogue facilitation, particularly in the EU–Africa context. She joined ICMPD in 2011, after having served at IOM for 8 years at the Office for the Mediterranean in Rome, at the Regional Office for West Africa in Dakar as well as at the EU Liaison Office in Brussels. Zanette graduated, cum laude, in Political Sciences at the University of Padua (Italy) in 1997 and holds an M.Phil in Advanced International Studies from the Diplomatic Academy in Vienna (Austria).
