Maytham Al-Rikabi has served as Head of the Migration Division at the Office of the Deputy Minister for Bilateral Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq, since May 2024. He previously led the Disarmament Division at the Department of International Organizations and Conferences. From 2019 to 2024, he was Head of the EU Division at the Iraqi Embassy in Brussels, following an earlier posting there as Desk Officer at the EU External Action Service. Since joining the Ministry in 2008, Al-Rikabi has held various roles within the Disarmament Section, working on chemical weapons, landmines, and the IAEA portfolio.
