Johan Forssell has been serving as the Swedish Minister for Migration since October 2024, with responsibility for migration and asylum issues as well as matters related to Swedish citizenship. From 2022 to 2024, he served as Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, with responsibility for trade policy and promotion and international development cooperation. From 2010 to 2022, he was a Member of the Riksdag. From 2007 to 2010, he was Director of Planning for the Moderate Party. Prior to that, Forssell was Chief of Staff in the Prime Minister’s Office. He holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics and studied at the London School of Economics and University of Otago.
