Alexander Kjærum

Global Advisor and Senior Analyst

Alexander Kjærum is a Global Advisor and Senior Analyst with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC), where he leads work on enhancing the use of data and analysis for strategic humanitarian planning and response. He is the author of the DRC’s flagship Global Displacement Forecast report and spearheads the organisation’s work on forecasting displacement for anticipatory action. As part of his role, he is currently engaged in setting up anticipatory action mechanisms for conflict-induced displacement across seven countries and co-leading the Global Working Group on Anticipatory Action for Displacement. Prior to joining the DRC, Kjærum worked as the Head of the Policy Unit in Voluntas Advisory, a consultancy firm working with major international donors, UN agencies, and NGOs providing evidence-based advisory on stabilisation, Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE), governance, and humanitarian issues. He holds an MS in Political Science from the University of Copenhagen.
