Agostino Consolo is an Adviser in DG-Economics at the European Central Bank (ECB), focusing on the euro area labour market. Since joining the ECB in 2007, he has worked on monetary policy, forecasting, and country monitoring, contributing to the design and evaluation of non-standard monetary policy measures during the global financial crisis. He played a key role in the macroeconomic adjustment programmes for Greece and Cyprus. Since 2017, his work has focused on the euro area labour market combining microdata and macroeconometric model for monetary policy as well as developing timely indicators for monitoring the euro labour market, including the use of AI methods. Consolo has published in leading journals such as the Journal of Monetary Economics, Journal of Econometrics, and European Economic Review. In May 2025, he co-published an ECB blog on the impact of migration on the euro area labour force and economic growth across the five largest euro area countries.
