Roland Freudenstein

Roland Freudenstein is Director of Free Russia Foundation’s Brussels office and co-founder of the Brussels Freedom Hub. His publications address European integration, international security, the Transatlantic alliance, Central and Eastern Europe, and global democracy support. He served as Research Fellow at the German Council on Foreign Relations in Bonn, as Policy Advisor in the Planning Staff on Foreign Policy of the European Commission in Brussels, and as Director of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation’s Warsaw office. Freudenstein was also Policy Director of the Wilfried Martens Centre, the think tank of the EPP in Brussels, and Head of the Brussels office of the Slovak think tank GLOBSEC. He holds a MA in political science, economics, and Japan studies from Bonn University and studied international relations in Los Angeles. He spent part of his military service at NATO in Belgium.
